In the last week, I used my network to crowdsource solutions and ideas for pressing problems in my business.
Within 24 hours, I had strong leads and / or solutions for each ask I made.
Leveraging my network saved me hours of time and energy that I would have spent on researching and vetting in order to make an informed decision.
Here are some examples of how I use my network to collapse time...
- I asked my network if they had leads for an event planner for online events, conferences, etc. I got 5 referrals back for different individuals and agencies that come vetted and recommended by my network for doing quality work. Sourcing leads to hire would have taken me weeks of research, interviewing, and reading reviews to narrow down a shortlist of candidates.
- I asked my network for a short term rental in Copenhagen in June. I got 2 amazing leads on apartments that are a perfect fit. Both options are way better than anything I could have found on Airbnb for my price point.
- I asked my network if they had a restaurant recommendation for a networking dinner I‘m hosting in a city I‘m unfamiliar with. My network was able to find me a private room with great ambiance and reasonable sound levels to facilitate better conversation. I would have spent hours reading reviews and writing back and forth with restaurant managers to make this happen on my own.
- I asked my network if there was anyone I should meet working on the future of food in Ibiza, England, or Spain to make the most of an upcoming work trip. I got dozens of messages back with offers to intro me to relevant contacts. This not only enriches and maximizes my travel experience, it also broadens my network, which leads to new opportunities and client potential.
